About the Program

The Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme (commonly known as the Swiss Funds or the Swiss Programme) is a funding scheme through which resources allocated by Switzerland for Poland’s development are distributed. The program was established based on agreements between Switzerland, the European Union, and Poland. The framework agreement was signed on December 5, 2022, in Warsaw. We are currently implementing the second edition of the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme.

The primary objective of the program is to reduce socio-economic disparities within the European Union and Poland by further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Switzerland and Poland.

 

European Context

Poland is not the only country with a dedicated cooperation program with Switzerland.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the European Union and Switzerland on June 30, 2022, Switzerland allocated 1.302 billion Swiss francs (CHF) for:

• Reducing socio-economic disparities in the EU – CHF 1.102 billion

• Cooperation in the field of migration – CHF 200 million

Poland, along with 12 other countries that have joined the EU since 2004, benefits from the pool dedicated to reducing socio-economic disparities. Our country is the largest beneficiary of these funds.

 

Funding

Switzerland has granted Poland CHF 320.1 million for the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme. When including the national contribution, the total amount reaches CHF 375.458 million.
