On May 14, proposals for new programs were discussed, covering rehabilitation services, grants for residents to replace windows and doors, and subsidies for renewable energy source (RES) installations.

Swiss funding is helping to implement further support programs for the residents of Ciechanów—initiatives designed to prevent social exclusion.

On May 14, public consultations lasting several hours took place at the Ciechanów City Hall.

The discussions focused on programs currently under development, which include:

  • rehabilitation services for residents of Ciechanów,
  • targeted grants for residents to replace windows and doors in multi-family residential buildings,
  • targeted grants for individuals to install renewable energy systems (RES).

The meeting was attended by individual residents, representatives of housing associations and cooperatives, non-governmental organizations, and healthcare providers. Seniors and young people, in particular, shared their insights regarding the rehabilitation services. The consultations were conducted in a workshop format, with participants rotating between groups to ensure a thorough exchange of opinions and a detailed discussion of all points raised.

This new support package for the people of Ciechanów is being developed as part of the Polish-Swiss Urban Development Programme—a non-repayable grant provided by the Swiss government, amounting to 51 million PLN for the city.

Residents of Ciechanów can now take advantage of the following services:

  • free home repairs – a "handyman" service (known as "Złota Rączka" or "Golden Hand") designed to assist those who, due to age, health conditions, or family circumstances, are unable to carry out certain repairs in their homes on their own;
  • rapid access to a psychologist – providing early intervention in crisis situations to prevent mental health issues and difficulties from escalating.

Requests can be submitted to the Resident Support Center (Centrum Wsparcia Mieszkańca):

  • in person (at the Municipal Social Welfare Center/MOPS building, ul. Sienkiewicza 32D, room 31, ground floor) on business days: Monday–Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM;
  • electronically (via email to: );
  • by phone (at +48 23 672 20 91, ext. 22)
