Social Committee – Workshop Session Dedicated to Youth

At the end of 2025, a meeting of the Social Committee was held, which was established in connection with the implementation of a project funded by the Polish-Swiss Town Development Program.

The main theme of the session was youth, forms of public participation, and cooperation with this group, which is of key importance to local governments.

The meeting addressed what attractive opportunities local governments can offer their young residents, how to listen to their needs, and how to utilize existing institutions to meet those needs.

The workshops, attended by members of the Social Committee, emphasized incorporating the perspective of young people and the necessity of accurately identifying their needs, barriers, and expectations.

Youth policy is the policy for the future of every city. Engaging young people in decision-making processes regarding the development directions of Ciechanów and its Functional Urban Area (FUA)—including the implementation of the Polish-Swiss Program—is a vital element of social participation.

The Social Committee was established by Decree No. 182/2025 of the President of the City of Ciechanów on November 13, 2025. It consists of 15 members. The committee's goal is to ensure the active participation of residents from Ciechanów and the Municipality of Opinogóra Górna, as well as representatives of social organizations and public and private institutions, in the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the project: "Strengthening Social Systems and Environmental Protection in Ciechanów and Part of its Functional Urban Area," as well as in public participation and communication.
